Gramercy Night Out

Manhattan-Gramercy

The Gramercy area surrounds its core; Gramercy Park. This is the only private park in Manhattan, accessible exclusively by the owners and renters of the surrounding properties. The area is decorated with dining gems, shops, and beautiful buildings. The architecture in this area is very elegant and unique. Gramercy has also become a home to off-broadway shows, so you can check and see if anything of interest is playing before dinner!

ABC Cocina is in my top 3 places to eat in the city. It’s an upscale Latin-American restaurant owned by Michelin-star chef Jean-George Vongerichten. They mostly do tapas (great for sharing). There won’t be much talking during dinner since you won’t stop eating! It truly is a carnival for your taste buds. I would recommend the whole menu but definitely don’t leave without trying the maitake mushrooms with goat cheese and the glazed short rib tacos. I go there on special occasion with my husband since this is where we went on our first date. Don’t mistake ABC Cocina for ABC Kitchen, they’re next to each other but have a very different menu!

After your amazing meal, you’ll hopefully have room for dessert. Eight minutes away is every chocolate-lover’s dream: Max Brenner Chocolate Bar. Here you can find anything you’ve ever dreamed of (well, anything that includes chocolate). You like chocolate and pizza? They have chocolate chunk pizza. You like spicy stuff? They have Mexican spicy hot chocolate. But if you want a “regular” dessert you can go for their endless options of hot chocolate, fondue, milk shakes, waffles, or crêpe brûlées. Whichever you choose, expect something unique and delicious.
