Brooklyn Botanic Burger Bliss

Brooklyn-Prospect Park

If you're looking to wind down and enjoy a relaxing Spring/Summer day then Brooklyn's Botanic Gardens are a must see and will take away any stresses you might have. I personally love doing a mix of different things when I am visiting a new place so the food-market is a chance to indulge in a bunch of different cuisines while putting in a food coma, whereas the Gardens is a lighter more elegant outing.

Brooklyn Botanic Gardens is another noteworthy Brooklyn spot that I would recommend going. There are fourteen different gardens and five different conservatories you could see. Tuesday through Friday the general grounds are open from 8 am to 6 pm and on Saturday and Sunday, the grounds are open from 10 am to 6 pm. The Lily Pool Terrace is my favorite garden to see. It is so serene with the lilies floating on the pool. Wayken Shaw is the curator of the Lily Pool Terrace where he strategically crafted nearly 100 varieties of hardy and tropical water-lilies along with other aquatic plants. My other favorite gardens to visit is the Rose Garden. I would recommend going to see this exhibit in June because that is when the roses are in full bloom. There are tens of thousands of roses crawling everywhere, it is so beautiful. The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens is a place that is peaceful and calming, where you can hear the bird’s chirp and must be in the moment. A perfect place to take your mom on Mother’s Day or go on a date. Every Garden and Conservatory has so much thought and consideration taken into account, that it makes you appreciate the beauty of nature. In addition to seeing the gorgeous gardens, you can take a break and have a nice bite to eat at Yellow Magnolia Café. All the dishes feature fresh vegetables and are exquisitely presented. When I went I got the house fish tacos. They were served with a house made blue corn tortilla, radish, and avocado crema. The crunch of the cabbage with the smoothness of the avocado made for the perfect bite. They were so light but scrumptious. My table also shared the Garden Mezze which was basically an assortment of dips and spreads like hummus. The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens is definitely a place I recommend you go if you’re looking for a relaxing yet educational day while taking a stroll through earth's beauty.
