The St. Regis is old New York. While you’re never really out of place in formalwear in Manhattan, you are certainly in the right place here if you happen to be in a gown / black-tie. The King Cole Bar is a superb place to begin a special evening. In addition to being one of the first places in America where the Bloody Mary was served the bar is also made famous by Maxfield Parrish’s masterpiece King Cole mural. Grab a table or a seat at the bar, most are first come first serve. The exception is Table 55. Table 55 must be reserved. It’s the only table with access to an exclusive chef’s custom designed menu and a bespoke wine list from the hotel’s coveted cellar. Expertly curated tableware from Christofle and Bernadaud complete the stylish dining experience. That will run you about $2,500 a night.
