locals share their perfect day. find yours.

When you're looking for the perfect laid back day to spend with the kids this is a collection of a few regular spots my family loves. First off head to the Children’s Museum of Art enjoy a demonstration or a workshop with the kids. Cowgirl is great laid back restaurant perfect for a mid day bite and top it off with a stop at Magnolia - popular but well deserved.

Cowgirl is the most kid-friendly restaurant in the neighborhood with a large and creative kids menu. My son has always loved their corn dog. There’s plenty of room to wiggle around inside, but snag a table outside for the best people watching.

Magnolia Bakery - BleeckerBakeries
This down-home destination for classic baked desserts specializes in a variety of creative cupcakes.

Magnolia Cupcakes may be one of the more touristy spots in the neighborhood, but the crowds keep coming for a reason. Kids love their super sweet cupcakes and desserts and the shop is bursting with West Village charm. I myself prefer the Banana Pudding to a cupcake. Eat your treat across the street on a shady bench in Bleecker Street Park.
